Fundraisers

Cheese Sales

For over 50 years, the Optimist Club of Knoxville has held annual cheese sales during the Christmas season as one of its primary fundraisers. Sourced from Ashe County Creamery in North Carolina, the cheese is sold by Optimist Club members to support both our youth and community programs. This long-standing tradition not only brings delicious, high-quality cheese to our supporters but also helps fund the important work we do in making a positive impact in the community.
2024 pricing – $16 per block or $96 per case of six.
Cheese should be arriving close to Thanksgiving.

If interested in purchasing cheese, see an your friendly neighborhood Optimist or please email info@knoxoptimist.org or kipscout@gmail.com.

Wreaths Across America

Each year, our club proudly participates in the Wreaths Across America program, raising funds not only to support our own projects but also to honor veterans at Knoxville’s Lyons View Cemetery. Through this initiative, we help Remember and Honor our fallen heroes by laying remembrance wreaths on their graves. In collaboration with the Vietnam Veterans of America Captain Bill Robinson Chapter 1078, our members actively solicit donations at local restaurants and grocery stores. Beyond fundraising, we also take part in the wreath placement and removal process, ensuring that the service and sacrifice of our veterans are never forgotten.

You can financially support the Wreaths Across America project anytime here.

Dessert Auction aka Sweets for the Sweetest

The annual dessert auction is held the Friday before Valentine’s Day during the normal Optimist Club lunch meeting (at noon at the Foundry on World’s Fair Site). This event is open to the public. The dessert auction is a silent auction with yummy sweets baked by the Optimist Club of Knoxville’s members. The 2025 event will be held  at Copper Cellar West on February 7, 2025!
