Dorothy Webber “Yes” Award

Dorothy Ann Weber (October 10, 1938 – March 23, 2009) became a member of the Optimist Club of in September of 1988. Past Optimist Club presidents called upon her for help because they knew she would say “yes”, and in 2004 the club awarded her the Optimist of the Year.

The Dorothy Weber “Yes” Award was setup to honor volunteers who have said ”yes” to helping in the various organizations in which Dorothy gave her time unselfishly.

American Heroes of the Year

The Optimist Club of Knoxville honors local emergency service professionals who are always there for their community. These individuals are trained and prepared to save lives and property in the face of tragedy and devastation and are ready to respond at a moment’s notice 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Optimist Club of Knoxville is pleased to be able to give back to those who give everything for others.

Respect for the Law Day

The Optimist Club of Knoxville honors outstanding officers of the various law enforcement agencies in our community including the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, Knoxville City Police, Tennessee Highway Patrol, Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
